Douglas Botkin, Ph.D., is a Senior Scientist with Enterprise Advisory Services at NASA-Johnson Space Center. He is the environmental microbiology lead, supporting environmental monitoring and technological development for microbial monitoring of the International Space Station. Doug received his Ph.D. in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics from the UT Health Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences in 2009, where he studied virulence determinants in the Lyme disease bacterium. He then pursued postdoctoral studies in the development of molecular diagnostics in pathogenic E. coli in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at UTMB.
